On Dust and Time is an essay film in five chapters. What do Greek mythology, the Church Father Augustine, the Portrait of an Unknown woman, a Japanese soldier and a robot vacuum cleaner have in common? The work was developed over six months and explores connections between time and dust. Dust as the smallest unit of matter visible to the naked eye, which makes the world tangible to us. Dust into which we turn, which deceives us and reveals deeper truths.
The work was created as part of the Bachelor Camera Artst thesis at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and was mentored by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Brückle. It features Ethel Rosetti, Larissa Schneider, Julian Hofer and Kai Röllin.

The first chapter Achlys deals with the figure of Achlys, who in Greek mythology is an explanation for death, descending as a kind of deathly mist upon the dying on the battlefield.
The second chapter, Augustine, explores the thought of Augustine of Hippo, who reflected on time and its interdependence with things.
The third chapter, Portrait of an Unknown Woman, deals with the process of creating an image for eternity.
In the fourth chapter Onoda a flawed human perception is confronted with material and temporal realities.
And the fifth chapter Sisyphus deals with human struggle against universal forces of disorder.
